Lun Aircraft - The Pr.903 Lun Class WIG (winged ground effect vehicle) is a unique naval weapon. This is the only time anyone has combined a ground effect sea observation aircraft with an anti-ship missile. It is one of the most unique and least understood naval weapons in the Russian Navy lineup. Fast and heavy, the Lun-class WIG aircraft was one of the best weapons of the Cold War. In the 1980s, the Soviet Union planned to build eight warships for the US Navy. But like many Russian thinkers, he is a victim of the end of the Cold War.
WIG craft, known in Russia as Ekranoplans, use an aerodynamic phenomenon called ground effect. It is an air cushion that forms between the wing and the ground during low-altitude flight. This reduces drag, allowing the WIG to carry heavy objects over long distances, especially over water. The result is like a flying boat that flies very low and very fast.

The Lun class WIG was built in 1987 and entered service in 1989. The ship was then supervised and designated as the UTKA class. The project was expensive and only the first ship (the Russian Navy considers their ships not aircraft) was completed. The second one was completed. Nevertheless, it can be considered one of the most successful WIGs, at least relatively speaking. It was designed by the Russian engineer R.E. Alekseev.

Its supersonic 'Moskit' missiles, known to NATO as the SS-N-22 Sunburn, make the Moon a formidable foe. It is larger and faster than the Harpoon missile in use by the US Navy.
