New Orleans Legal Aid - What began as a way to meet the ongoing needs of our clients has grown into a strong, community-focused legal reentry clinic.

Legal Re-entry and Withdrawal Clinics have reopened! Beginning July 21, clinics are hosted twice a month from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 4035 WashingtonAve, New Orleans, LA 70125. Re-entry clinics will be held on the third Wednesday of every month beginning 7/21/21. And expungement clinics will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month beginning 7/28/21. Please contact the Louisiana Center for Justice and Accountability for more information, required documents and forms, and assistance navigating the process. Mask is required for service.

Expungement is a court-ordered process to clear the record of a criminal arrest, charge, or conviction. While this does not completely destroy the record, it does remove the record from public access. Deleted records are confidential but remain available to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.

Expungement removes one of the most difficult barriers to re-entry and employment. It exponentially increases the likelihood that a person will be able to find work, housing, school or training.

Once a month, we partner with the Center for Justice and Accountability and Legal Services of Southeast Louisiana to provide eviction services.

The attorney and client advocate help gather necessary information about the case and file the necessary paperwork to request an annulment.
